Jeffrey Hatcher, the Delran Township Borough Administrator, has announced his retirement from local government and the position he has held since March of 1989.

Hatcher received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rider University in 1980 and a Master of Public Administration degree from Temple University in 1983. While completing his M.P.A. degree he began working an internship with Delran Township assisting the Mayor during a time period when their previous Business Administrator had departed to assume a position in another community.

This internship led him to come in contact with various other surrounding communities while working on common issues and a shared service that ultimately led to his hiring in Delanco Township. Hatcher was brought on as Township Administrator in Delanco Township from 1983 to 1988 while also serving as the Township Clerk. He then served as Business Administrator for Florence Township from 1988-1989.

During his 32 year tenure as Delran Township Borough Administrator, Hatcher attended a number of NJMMA meetings, ICMA conferences and local County meetings of municipal managers and administrators, which he benefited greatly from.

“I think when I look back on my time in Delran it will not be individual experiences or goal attainments that resonate with me the most,” Hatcher said. “Instead it will be the overall feeling of pride that I experience from being part of a team that along with the commitment of our employees has provided to its citizens a truly high level of service through all of the municipal departments.”

Jeffrey Hatcher’s last day will be December 31, 2021.

“As my career in public service comes to a close, I would like to thank the NJMMA and specifically recognize Municipaltalk as a valuable resource for me and especially during the recent pandemic,” said Hatcher. “I wish all of you continuing on in the field of municipal management the best.”
